If your looking for a place to prospect Longs is it. Longs is located
just outside of Kingsland TX on the Llano River. People have been going there to swim and fish since the early 1900 and the
Spanish were there before that. There is over a mile of Llano river access for panning sluicing, metal detecting and
dredging. There are also a couple of creeks that have good Gold in them. GPAA groups have been having outings out there
for a few years and WATTS held a large metal detecting hunt on the property.
There
are six cabins and 18 campsites, five camp sites have electricity, on the property. The price for camping day or night is
$6.00/ $10.00 with electric plus $5.00 per person. Children under 12 are no charge.
Digs
per day $20.00 and Panning is $20.00 per day. Fishing and swimming is $5.00 per person. Children under 12 are no charge. Cabins
are available at different rates, rates start at $40.00 per night.
Everyone must check in at the
office before going onto the property.

Longs is located on the west side of 1431. If you are heading
N on 1431, out of Kingsland, look for longs on the left just past the rail road tracks. If you are headed S from
the Highway 29 intersection look for Longs on the right side of 1431 about 2 mile S of the 1431 and HWY 29 intersection. Look
for the catfish heads.
